Week four was the busiest week of all. With just a few days left before the unveiling of the D-Rex at the World of Wheels show in Chicago (Feb 1st - 3rd), many last minute things needed to be done. Check out the massive 44-inch tires installed with unusual, but fun techniques. ;-) The engine has been chromed out to perfection, underbody coated with a truck bed liner spray, and the interior is being worked on with the help of Dave and others.

These pictures were taken at the World of Wheels car show in Chicago. After five weeks of work, the D Rex was finally able to be showed off in all its glory. The bumpers and undercarriage are industrial strength steel, and turned out great. Notice the diamond steel plating covering the engine hatch openings, which is now the trunk in this beast. The interior has been cleaned up a lot, and future work will include the addition of a custom stereo system that will have integrated cameras, front and rear, to increase the driver's visibility during maneuvering. The work is about 80% done at this point, and it will only get better in future weeks.

Exhausted from the monstrous task of getting the D Rex ready for World of Wheels, the award-winning beast is back to the shop and work on the car/truck has been slow. We have taken one step forward and then had to take two steps back. Although the D Rex was in running condition for the show, I have decided to update the electrical system throughout the car, design a new ignition/starter setup, continue customizing the interior, and add auxiliary exterior lighting effects. Notice the fuel cell sitting where a regular DeLoreans engine would sit. And how cool is that shot of the D Rex on the flatbed car carrier?:-)
